Maintenance Schedule for our AusCan RO System |
The cartridge filters need to be replaced periodically to
keep this system working and to get the best RO performance. The sealed cartridges changes
easily in seconds!
The frequency of change depends on the quality of the incoming water and the quantity of
water produced per day. |
 |
| FILTER |
REPLACED PERIOD - (depends on TDS in the raw water) |
| Filter 1: 5 Micron Polypropylene Sediment Filter |
±6 months to a year or ±5500 litres |
| Filter 2: Coconut Shell - Activated Carbon Filter |
±6 months to a year or ±11000 litres |
| Filter 3: *KDF-GAC Filter or 1 Micron Sediment Filter |
±6 months to a year or ±11000 litres |
| Filter 4: RO TFC- Membrane |
5+ years or ±45 400 litres |
| Filter 5: Post Carbon In-line Filter |
±3 year or ±18 900 litres |
*Filter used depends on different RO Types
Assuming a house hold uses 20 litres a day, every day for a year (365 days), the total
amount of water consumed in a year will be 7300 litres. |

AusCan Reverse Osmosis Filter Description |
| PROCESS |
DESCRIPTION |
| Stage 1 |
5 Micron Spun-polypropylene Sediment Pre-filter Removes large
sediments such as dirt, sand, sludge, grit and rust from the feed water.
|
| Stage 2 |
Coconut Shell GAC Activated Carbon Cartridge Filter Water then flows
into an activated carbon cartridge filter which takes out 98% of the chlorine and various
other contaminants including the organic chemicals.
|
| Stage 3 |
* KDF-GAC Coconut Shell Activated Carbon Filter or 1 Micron Sediment
Filter Removes most of the "heavy metals", e.g. iron aluminium, copper,
sulphur and lead. It also traps bacteria fungus, algae, chemical compounds and absorbs
taste and odour of organics, chlorine and benzene.
|
| Stage 4 |
Reverse Osmosis TFC Membran The Reverse Osmosis membrane treats the
prefiltered water on a high molecular level, filtering out 95% - 99% of dissolved solids
such as sodium, nitrates, lead, fluoride and arsenic. It also filters out organism such as
cryptosporidium and giardia cysts. It screens any remaining contaminants the previous
stages have not removed (removes particles as small as 0.0001 micron in size).
|
| Stage 5 |
Post Granular Activated Carbon In-line Post Filter Kills any bacteria
that may have formed in the tank after leaving the RO membrane and removes any remaining
odours and bad tastes from the water. The carbon granular also polish the water, giving it
the aesthetic qualities that make it smooth, healthy and great tasting.

Clean Water should be your main issue
Nowadays, many people realize that tap water is not safe to drink.
But if you talk to people and ask them about this issue, most can only give a vague explanation of the problem. They know that the water is not "safe," but they don't know exactly what toxins are in it, or where they come from. You may have the cleanest looking, purest tasting water around that comes from a pristine well 1000 feet below the ground or from some untouched mountain top stream, but that doesn't guarantee anything. Too many chemicals have been introduced over the years, especially through industry and agriculture.
The fact is that water contamination may be the worldwide number one health problem. Over 70% of our body is water, and we need clean water every day to rejuvenate our system and flush out toxins. Water is the foundation of our health, and if the foundation is poor, the entire structure is jeopardized.
